The Mind is a powerful mechanism designed to give us the ultimate experience of life, to experience life in all its fullness, beauty and truth. It is meant to help us discover who we are, why we are here and how we can fulfil our purpose and reach our destination.
However, Society has conditioned us to view our minds with doubt, suspicion, and fear. After all, for most of us it is the chaotic mind from where anxiety and depression come from. If you too feel that the mind is the source of all your problems and that you are unable to control it, then it’s time to change your opinion. It’s time to educate yourself on how you can use this powerful instrument called the “mind” to beautify your life and soul.
Let’s see how we can turn the mind into a source of love, peace, happiness and good health to lead a more fulfilling life.
1. Follow your Bliss
The Vedas declare, all divine values are different faces of one thing an that is – Bliss-consciousness. This means every time we follow our bliss we get a glimpse of love, beauty, inspiration and such other virtues.
Choose at least one activity or experience in your day that feels blissful. Do things that bring you joy. Take time to do them, because when you spend time consciously engaging in something that lifts your spirit, you are signaling the direction you want your brain and subconscious mind to increasingly favor. The more you go after these joyful activities, the more positive your focus will become and the healthier your mind will get. For, that you focus on grows stronger in life. Focus on Joy and your mind will start working towards bringing you more joy in your life.
2. Be Aware and Alert
Simple awareness is in reality, present moment consciousness. It is not something we need to necessarily learn in a meditation program or class. Simply sit alone in a quiet place and consciously start to take a few deep breaths. Slowly take your attention to your chest and heart area. This is the experience of centering, and it brings the mind back to its core, which is quiet and peaceful. Enjoy few minutes in this restful relaxed state of being. It will open the way for us to experience bliss, peace and wellbeing.
To help you get a better and deeper experience, sit outdoors, feel the freshness of the breeze on your face and body. You will realize how calmer your mind is getting. When you do this daily, you create new neural pathways in your brain that continue to create positive pictures and induce emotions of love and peace within your mind and body.
3. Create a Strong Mental Vision for your desired life
Have you created a Vision about how your life should be? A Vision can fill your reality with inspiration. It can positively change how you see yourself and the world. It helps you establish a purpose, direction, and path to follow every day.
Every time you are in doubt, check to see if the path you are about to take is in alignment with your vision. Confusion creates chaos. Holding on to a vision about your desired life and goals gives you clarity which is essential to keep the mind healthy. It keeps your mind away from unnecessary chatter and burden of thoughts that negatively affect your mood and inner drive to get things done.
4. Examine your Beliefs
A healthy mind is a healing mind, free from energy of thoughts that pull us down. Look at yourself and examines your old habits, beliefs, and thinking patterns. Most of these could be deeply rooted mental blockages from your past that make you see, do and react in ways that are detrimental to your success and growth.
To break this chain of unconscious responses and limiting thoughts, simply pause whenever you are feeling overwhelmed. Observe how you are feeling and spend some time in silence acknowledging and accepting how you are feeling. Take your time to reflect on what is going in your mind and body. Then ask yourself if your thoughts or beliefs are bringing you joy and peace. If not, remind yourself, you deserve joy and peace and so you deserve to think better thoughts. Repeat, “ I deserve love, I deserve Joy, I deserve Peace, I deserve Success.” Wait for a few seconds to let a new healthier impulse comes up that is closer to the real you, which is pure bliss. Smile and get back to your work. Repeat this exercise daily to heal your mind and enjoy more positivity into your life.
