The Healing Power of Forgiveness
We all go through ups and downs in life. but ultimately it is our attitude and character that decides how well we deal with things and move forward in life. The most important Key to moving forward in life is Forgiveness. Without Forgiveness we can never really overcome what happened and make way for a better future.
If we go through life carrying heavy weights and baaggages of the past we will only pull ourselves down. When you hold a resentment, grievance, hatred for anyone, or if you have been holding on to past hurts and pains, you will constantly be putting your body and mind under pressure. These emotions release hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol and have adverse effects on our immune system, overall health and wellbeing. They affect our mood and our capacity to think and reason.
On the other hand when we forgive and learn to let go of blame, we release tension from our minds and bodies. Our body comes into a state of ease. It starts to return to functioning the way it is supposed to function for our health and healing.Most importantly, we would be able to move faster towards the good things we desire and will succeed in life more easily.
What is True Forgiveness?
Forgiveness, is not about what you say, do or pardon. It is never about the other person, or even about what happened to you. It is about your Wellbeing and Freedom. The more a person holds on to resentments, the more they stay stuck to their past and block their own growth and success. Whether it is resentment you hold for another person or even guilt for something you did or did not do, you need to forgive others and your own self to release these feelings or they will become deeply embedded in your subconscious mind and continue to stay dominant within you as limiting mental patterns, bringing you similar experiences of pain and diappointments in your life.
Forgiveness is the recognition that all experiences are mirrors of our own inner self. They are opportunities for us to cleanse our minds and hearts and to clear programs and memories stored within our own consciousness. It is about understanding that actions that are perceived as hurtful or wrong are the perspective of our ego self not our real higher self.
The ego self within us feeds on the need to stay hurt and seek revenge. It keeps our focus and attention on what has gone wrong in our lives. But our real Self knows feeds on love and compasssion. It knows that the Universe will rebalance all actions at the appropriate time and in the appropriate way in accordance with the cosmic laws.
Letting go is about Trusting
There is no reason for us to feel unloved and unsupported because of what happened or what someone else said or did to us. Everyone is operating from their own consciosuness and state of awareness. But Life is never unfair to not give us a chance to use our minds to make our choices and take corrective actions. Nobody has the power over our life but we ourselves. All power is within. All we need to do is to trust the Divine self and Higher wisdom within us and to continue to believe in our good. When we believe we are worthy and deserve good, no matter what has happened with us in the past, the Present situation will improve and, by Universal and cosmic laws, the future will bring us evidence of our posiitve belief and expectation.
How Forgiveness works?
Unhappiness in life is often the result of giving energy to thoughts like, “This should not have happened.” Or “Now I will never be happy”. We need to understand that the past is gone. It cannot be changed. If you think deeply you will realize it does not have to, For all power lies in the present moment. Forgiveness is a process of Letting go that trains your mind to free those limiting thoughts relating to the past, thereby helping you become more mindful in the present moment.
The more you practice letting go, the more you will experience true peace of mind and equanimity. You will feel like a heavy burden come off your shoulders.
Forgiveness brings you the awareness to not let the negative things that happened to you to control your current situation or choices. As you forgive, you realize “letting go” is true to your own nature and core self. You discover your strengths and begin to take better charge of your own life. Undoubtedly, Forgiveness is one of the most powerful ways you can change your life story. It is the ultimate preventive medicine as well as the greatest Healer in the World. When Forgiveness fills our hearts and love dominates our feelings and actions, we unleash our own power, potential and greatness.
