Ho’oponopono – Let go of the Past to experience Peace, Joy and Success
Concept of 100 % Responsibility
Ho’oponopono is a Powerful Problem Solving technique based on a very important metaphysical and spiritual practice of “Assuming 100% Responsibility” for your life and experiences. Let us understand what assuming responsibility for your life means. 100% Responsibility as we would normally assume would be the responsibility for all your thoughts, words, actions, and deeds. In short, it’s about assuming responsibility for everything that comes from you.
We have always been told that you are only in control of what you do. But in the Ho’oponopono process “100% responsibility” extends even beyond you. The Process talks of assuming responsibility for not just what you think, say, feel, and do but also for what others think, say, do, and feel that in any way bothers or affects you.
What Triggers you Controls you
Basically, it extends to anything that triggers any negative response from you. So if there is something you see, that you do not like or approve of and that makes you feel a negative emotion like anger or resentment, then according to the Ho’oponopono process, you are completely responsible for it. This means We need to give up blaming others for everything that is happening within us. There is no out there. Have you noticed, wherever there is a problem you are always there? This is a question that Ho’oponopono practitioners will typically ask you when they wish to explain the concept of 100% Responsibility to you. When you think about this more deeply, you will realize that your thoughts and beliefs have always contributed to your experiences.
Are you Conscious of your Subconscious?
Studies on the Subconscious mind confirm the influence of the subconscious mind on your life situations and circumstances. While the conscious mind only constitutes about 3 to 5 % of your thinking, it’s the subconscious mind to the extent of nearly 97% which is influencing how you think, feel, behave, respond, invite and even attract events into your life. Why this is so important for us to understand is because we are unconscious of our thought and belief patterns lying within our subconscious mind. This means that although you think you know what you are doing, you actually don’t.
Nearly 97 % of your thinking and doing is coming from your deeper Subconscious mind. If you don’t like what you are experiencing in your life, the only logical place to look for a change is within yourself in your own Subconscious mind. That is the only way to get started transforming your life for the better. Ho’oponopono teaches us that there is no point blaming other people and situations for your plight because they are only mirroring what’s going on inside you. Whether it’s Mr. A, B, or C, they all show up in your life and trigger the very memories and programs lying within your subconscious mind.
We are energy beings
Why are we bound by our past? Why do I have to suffer for what’s in my Subconscious mind? Well, that’s because we are energy beings. This body that we claim to be our identity is a mass of energy vibrating at a certain frequency. As energy beings, we are constantly interacting with our environment through the release and exchange of energy. What you give out comes back because there can be no vacuum in the universe.
Once released from you, this energy is going to be replaced with energy that exactly matches what you sent out. Here’s the thing to understand. The energy that you release is near up to 97 % coming from the past programs that you picked up from your environment, family, ancestors, maybe even past lives. Now we don’t know how many of these are about how wonderful the world is, of how helpful and loving people are, of how grateful and healthy you are. Or even about how worthy and secure you feel.
Key to Freedom
The only way to control what comes into your life is to erase and clear limiting past programs and memories sitting inside your subconscious mind. As you keep cleaning your past, you will start feeling more peaceful in the present. The Ho’oponopono process teaches us how to connect with our subconscious mind to Let Go of these old limiting programs and experience more Peace, Joy, and fulfillment in the present, leaving us with more clarity and inspiration to do the right thing at the right time and thereby lead a life of success and purpose.
