Success requires a healthy mindset. Most of the times we experience delays and rejections because we are not quite ready to give up old ways of thinking and doing things. We don’t work on improving ourselves. While cultivating the healthy success habits is important, it is also equally necessary to work on eliminating unhealthy thoughts, patterns and activities that often block our success.
Achieving what you want is absolutely possible and this does not depend on what you want. It always depends on how you approach what you want, with what thoughts and vibration. For maintaining a good vibration, we will need to take it one day at a time. Afterall, success is the progressive realization of a worthy idea or goal. And this progressive realization requires the right thinking and mindset to be adopted on a daily basis.
Let’s look at some common thinking patterns that need to be eliminated immediately-
1. Being Unhappy
Many people have big dreams that they want to achieve but while they pursue their goals, they stay unhappy and frustrated with their current circumstances. Remember, things may not be as desired at this point in time in your life. You may be dissatisfied, wanting to change things for yourself and rightly so. But you should still be happy and grateful at all times for what you have received so far. Unhappiness makes you restless and unappreciative of the good things around you. If you do not change this attitude, you will never be happy even when you achieve your goals.
For example, you may want to attract a better job with a higher salary but while you look out for new opportunities, if you hate your current job, all the time criticising and complaining about it, then you are going on the wrong track. This is because wherever you go, even to a new, bigger and better company, don’t forget you will carry your mind and attitude with you there. And if you are used to hating something, you will attract more situations and people around you to hate and feel unhappy about. You will miss good opportunities and be drawn to unpleasant situations.
So what’s the key- Be grateful for what you already have and no matter how little that is, remind yourself others may still have much less than you.
2. Viewing failures as losses
We often hold a wrong notion of what failure is and that itself blocks our success. If you fear failure, it makes you reluctant to even try to do things simply because of the risk of not succeeding. Because it can be risky to do something you may not have done earlier, people become very conscious and overwhelmed with the fear of failure. They end up staying where they are and never see their dreams coming true.
The truth is, failure is not a loss, it is actually a lesson. It’s an inevitable step on your way to success – a step you will most likely need to take to learn and grow. Failure is proof that you are trying, that you are doing something to get what you want, and that you are not giving up. Failure gives you the lessons and experiences you need to become stronger, and have more willpower and focus. If you reflect on failure in a positive way, it will guide you on the right path because failure shows you what exactly not to do next time so you can do something better and bigger going forward.
3. Making Excuses
We all our probably guilty of making excuses at some point. Problem arises when we use them all the time and behave as victims unable to take charge of our own lives.
Which one of the below are you using as an excuse?
It’s not the right time
I am very unlucky
I am not good enough
I am too old or too young to do this
I don’t have enough knowledge or experience
They (People) don’t want me to succeed
I do not have enough support to make it big
It will take too long
I am not smart enough
People will laugh at me
When you find yourself thinking these thoughts that stop you from moving forward, stop and reflect on why you are thinking them. Realize that most of these negative thoughts come to you from your past and they may not be true at all. Our mind is tricking us into staying in our comfort zone to do the same old activities and tasks on autopilot. It discourages us from trying anything new. It feels safe in going the familiar way. That’s why it’s making up all these excuses and preventing us from progressing. But just because we were told something or we saw something in the past, it does not mean it is going to be so for the rest of our lives. Remind yourself, “the past is gone, today is a new day, what you think repeatedly, you will attract.” So why not think about what you want?
Make up your mind to not let these excuses stop you. Stay positive and live with confidence and courage.
4. Being Unwilling to Forgive
Believe it or not, most of the times it is unwillingness to forgive that makes it so difficult to move on and live in the present. If you don’t live in the present, you won’t be able take right action at the right time for, you will lack clarity, will and ability to do so. Unforgiveness weakens your body. It keeps you stuck to the unpleasant things that happened. A mind filled with grudges lacks power to think, plan, execute and achieve.
Forgiveness is as important as food and water that sustains your body. It is the ultimate preventive medicine as well as the greatest healer in the world. Whatever goals you wish to achieve, you can only focus on them positively, in a good vibration with forgiveness and love in your heart. And it can all start with being willing to forgive with all your heart. To put forgiveness into practice, daily think of 3 people you wish to forgive, including yourself. Repeat, “I am willing to forgive myself and others, I only keep love in my heart for myself and others.”
In conclusion, keep this thought with you…
You don’t get what you want, you get what you think you deserve. And what you think you deserve comes from the feelings you hold for yourself and others. So improve your mindset, feel good and you will certainly achieve big success in life.
