The joyful occasion of lights is here. As we celebrate the festival of Deepavali and welcome the New Year by lighting up our homes, let us also consider what we could do all year through to keep the light in our hearts and minds burning bright and strong.
Emotions are E-Motion i.e Energy in Motion. They are an inner guidance system we all possess that helps us to identify which direction we are headed in our lives. At any given point in time, we are either moving closer towards the things we want or we are moving further away from our desired life. If we can find a way to start consciously choosing positive emotions, we will be able to break deep rooted mental blocks and resistances that keep us stuck in lack and fear.
1. Treat yourself the way you want others to treat you
Do you want others to love you? Then love yourself.
Do you want others to value you and give you their precious time? Then start connecting with yourself daily.
Self love sets a foundation for the good things you desire in your life. The more you love yourself the more you receive love from the world. This is because the world is a reflection of your own inner relationship with yourself. But you can only love yourself if you Know yourself. Spend time in Silence daily to get to know yourself better. It’s strange that we want other people to give us time and attention but we barely give time to our own selves.
When you spend time daily to connect with yourself in silence, you start understanding yourself and your needs better. You begin to release grudges, guilt and other negative feelings you may held for yourself. You don’t see yourself as the problem anymore, you see yourself, your energy and vibration as the Key to resolve issues and live your best life. Self awareness and Self love both go hand in hand to bring you positive thoughts, feelings and results. With Self awareness and Self love, you begin to embrace your strengths and find powerful ways to overcome your weaknesses instead of pulling yourself down or giving up each time a problem arises.
Every day, wake up with a smile. As you see yourself in the mirror, say to yourself, “I Love you, I Appreciate you, you are Wonderful”
2. Speak words which you yourself want to hear
Your Words shape your dominant attitude and personality. The words you speak become your thoughts and start to drive your behavior and ultimately impact your results. If we use harsh or negative words, we begin to build negativity inside us. As a result, we begin to see ourselves as mere Victims to whom things just happen outside our control rather than Creators who make things happen for themselves and are in control of their life.
Positive words are healing words. They uplift and encourage. They help us stay in a positive vibration and leave us feeling better about ourselves, other people and even the world in general. We begin to make healthy choices that support our physical health as well as boost our psychological and mental wellbeing.
Speak sweet words with a pleasant face. Do not speak when you are upset or angry. Try to lift yourself out of a sad mood by reminding yourself about how you want to feel. For example, when you experience doubt, speak the words, “I am destined for success.” These words will start getting embedded into your subconscious mind and will help you feel more positive and optimistic.
3. As you forgive, you are yourself Forgiven
Unforgiveness is a very big cause for negative feelings, stress, ill-health and failures in life. When you hold unpleasant feelings towards anyone, you cannot feel peaceful. You will always be having an internal war with feelings of resentment and anger. We hold grudges and bitterness for years, thinking and feeling that we have been wronged by others. But in reality, when we are blaming, we are harming ourselves because this hatred and bitterness is living inside us, dimming the light of our mind, heart and spirit. If we don’t get rid of it, we block joy and success from ourselves and also cause much discomfort to our loved ones.
Choose to forgive and bless everyone. This will release toxic emotions of hate and hurt within you thereby strengthening your own vibration protecting you from all harm.
Everyday after you take your morning shower, spend two minutes for your mental cleansing. Think of 3 people you wish to forgive. As you think of them, mentally say, “I forgive you and bless you with a happy and healthy life.“ The good feelings that come from out will find their way back into your life bringing you love and happiness in your life.
