The festive season is here. We may have spent a considerable time decorating our homes. But it’s as important to decorate our mind and thoughts with positive ideas that will give us inner strength and power to live our lives in happiness, good health, peace and success.
Take a minute and think about what you have said to yourself today. Was it harsh? Or was it kind and helpful? How did your thoughts make you feel about yourself and your life today? Your thoughts are the source of your emotions and moods. They determine how you respond to events and situations in your life. They drive your behaviour and affect the results of the actions you take.
Positive Self-talk
Your Self-talk is very important in shaping your dominant Attitude in life. It establishes your feelings for yourself and impacts your Confidence and sense of Self worth. If we constantly give ourselves negative messages, then we begin to develop dominant feelings of Unworthiness and Low Self esteem. As a result, We come to see ourselves as “Victims” to whom things are happening rather than “Victors”, who make things happen for themselves
On the other hand, when we engage in Positive Self-talk, we begin to view the world in a more positive manner and ultimately feel better about ourselves. We begin to make healthy choices that support our Wellbeing. We improve our psychological and mental wellbeing along with boosting our physical health, energy and vitality. The next time you catch yourself filled with negative thoughts and feelings, try to take control of the moment by replacing them with positive thoughts.
Here are three powerful thoughts which can help you conquer any challenge and experience great success in everything you do through POSITIVE SELF TALK-
1. I Believe in myself
Self confidence is the first step towards success. Any amount of effort without self-confidence will be of little use. Hence repeat these golden words, “ I Believe in myself,” then reflect on some of your past HAPPY memories or experiences of achievement. Recall those moments from your past where you were successful at a similar task or in which your strengths really came through. Reflect on obstacles you faced and overcame with grace and courage. Focus on all the things you have achieved and are thankful for. In this manner you will send a strong message to your subconscious mind that you deserve success and are capable of doing whatever it is that you want to do in your life.
By focusing on the positives, you can change your mindset from that of negativity to that of power and success. You really don’t need to depend on anyone or anything in order to believe in yourself. We all have times when we just don’t think we can do it. The most important thing at such times is to NOT GIVE UP. If you are feeling discouraged, try to shift your focus. Instead of focusing on failures or weaknesses, focus on your strengths and what you want to accomplish. Repeat positive words of belief and confidence. You will soon see yourself accomplish bigger and better things.
2. I Love & Value Myself
Self-love is the basis for experiencing love from others. The more you love yourself the more you receive love from the world. This is because the world is a reflection of your own inner relationship with yourself. Self-love is the lesson we have all come here to learn.
Spend time in silence to get to know yourself better. It’s strange that we want other people to give us time and attention but we barely give time to our own selves. When you spend time with yourself in silence, you start understanding yourself and your needs better. You begin to release grudges, guilt and other negative feelings you may held for yourself for very long. As you begin to connect with yourself and love yourself, You don’t see yourself as “the problem” anymore. You see yourself, your energy and vibration as the Key to resolve your own issues and live your best life.
Remember, Self-awareness and Self-love both work together to bring you positive thoughts and feelings. If you don’t love yourself, you will never trust yourself. Without trust, you will never be able to back yourself up and take the right action steps at the right time. With Self-love, you embrace your strengths and find powerful encouraging ways to overcome your weaknesses instead of weighing yourself down.
3. In Forgiving and Blessing others, I am forgiving and Blessing myself
Universal power is described in the Vedas as “Sahasra Seersha Purushaha Sahasrakshah Sahasra paad.” The real significance of this statement is that the one Divine power or Universal force expresses itself through millions of individuals and that all are divine beings. It is a person’s mind that blocks the divinity present in them. How one uses one’s mind is what determines the fruits of one’s actions and the quality of our experiences in this world.
There is no point in blaming another person for our misfortunes. We hold grudges and bitterness for years, thinking and feeling that we have been wronged. But in reality, we are harming ourselves because this hatred and bitterness is living inside us, in our mind and heart. It is harming our own body, capability, power and productivity. If we don’t get rid of it, we block happiness and cause much discomfort to our loved ones. Instead if we choose to forgive and bless others, we will release these toxic emotions of hate and hurt, thereby strengthening our own vibration and also sending positivity to people around us.
This positivity generated from forgiveness will protect us from all harm. No one can harm someone who has the energy of love and blessing in him. For, these are highest vibrational frequencies of universal light and healing. When you are unable to forgive or let go, remind yourself, “In forgiving and blessing others, I am actually forgiving and blessing myself.” See how these powerful words will take deep impressions in your heart and make you more willing and ready to choose forgiveness and love instead of hate and blame.
