Reprogram your Subconscious mind- Blog Post by Dr Karishma Ahuja

 
Become conscious of your Subconscious

We are all aware we have a conscious mind and a subconscious mind. The conscious mind takes in information from our surroundings and interactions with family, friends, school, peers, society etc and through the five senses. The Subconscious mind then accepts and downloads all of this information without any filter or consideration for good or bad. It keeps referring to our past behavior, reactions and feelings and continues to engage with them all day. That means, at any given point in time, we are experiencing the subconscious replaying memories of the past. This process and cycle never stops. It’s replaying memories even when you are sleeping. These memories then determine how we perceive, react, respond, act and live.
 

This part of us called the subconscious mind communicates to us through pictures, intuitions, dreams, feelings, and also through our own body. If we find a way to connect with our subconscious minds and positively influence it with good ideas and thoughts, we will start attracting into our reality our deeply desired dreams and goals.
 

Today let’s look at some practices to reprogram our deeper mind (Subconscious) for positive results and experiences.
 

1. Visualization: It’s about having a clear idea about what you want and then creating images and pictures around it. Close your eyes and Imagine seeing yourself achieving your desire or goal and feel the way you would feel had you actually achieved it in reality. By doing this, you inevitably raise your vibration. Your subconscious mind begins to engage with these pictures and starts bringing you more of the same feelings and experiences that you had imagined.

 

 

2. Mindfulness: Present moment is the only moment we have. If we are constantly dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, we fail to live in the present and the now. Being out of the ‘Now’, affects the quality of our lives and everything we do. Mindfulness is about being aware and present. Here is a simple way to practice being more mindful. When you notice any restlessness or anxiousness within you, become aware of your thoughts. Don’t try to resist or stop them. As they come they will go away like passing clouds. Try breathing slowly and consciously for few minutes and then get back to doing what you were doing with more focus and concentration. Mindfulness will help keep the mind open and receptive for positive programming and influence.

 

 

3. Positive Attention and Focus: Practice the art of Positive focus. It is about focusing on the positive, instead of the negative. It is about Looking for what is working for you rather than complaining about everything that’s not working out for you. A simple way to practice this is to Ask yourself, “What’s going right for me today? Smile and wait for answers to come. Your subconscious mind will certainly bring you answers and evidence of more “right” into your life. Because that’s how the mind works. If you ask a specific question, the subconscious mind is obligated to bring you an answer. If you ask ‘what’s going right’, it must bring more right into your life first in order to answer it for you. This is the power of positive focus and attention. So focus on the things you want in your life and your subconscious mind will start creating more of them for you.

 

 

4. Affirmations: Affirmations help develop a positive mindset through the power of words and positive suggestions. They also help one changing old belief patterns and habits. You can reprogram your subconscious mind by affirming in the present something that is desired by you. For example, an affirmation for a good day could be, “Today is the best day of my life.” Using such a statement repeatedly will help form positive images in your mind about how your day should go. You give a direction to your subconscious mind through your words. It will follow this direction and keep bringing you experiences that match these new words and pictures.
