Remove Fatigue and Boost your energy with these simple tips

One of the common complaints we hear in today’s fast paced competitive world is fatigue. People complain of lack of energy. Generally lifestyle and stress are considered to be the root cause. When we stress over things that are happening in our lives, and engage in too much thought, we can actually lose more energy than we do with even physical activity.

In Ayurveda, creating energy in the body is a function of agni, or our digestive fire. This includes the digestion of food into the body as well as the digestion of our daily life experiences like our thoughts, emotions and actions.

When our minds are positive and the agni or fire within us is strong, we take in well everything we put inside and are able to create good energy. When our agni or fire is is weak, and our thoughts are of low or negative nature, we turn the same things unhealthy and toxic. As a result we feel sluggish heavy and fatigued most of the time.

Here are few ways to overcome fatigue-

1. Make time for Mental relaxation

We all know movement and activity is important for blood circulation and to keep the body fit and healthy, but too much of activity which often turns into hyperactivity and restlessness is not good. We need to also balance this natural energy with rest. Too much interaction with people and engagement with electronic gadgets can drain one’s energy. Talking continually also lower energy. Similarly, Skipping meals does not give the body the sustenance it needs. As a result we feel tired and low. So try to relax your mind and body through sitting in silence with your eyes closed every few hours in the day. Breathe slowly and deeply. You will instantly feel recharged and rejuvenated.

2. Wake up early

Spend some time enjoying the morning sun in peace and calmness.Few minutes of walking outside on a warm, bright day will boost your mood, memory, and even the ability to absorb new information. Clinical studies show that early risers tend to be more energetic throughout the day. They also tend to fall asleep faster.

This habit of rising early helps reap the benefits of many good habits, leading to an energetic, well-rested, stress-free, punctual, and healthy you. You get a sense of order in life, making you feel happier. In fact, according to studies on wellness, people who wake up early have a more positive state of mind and outlook in life.

3. Monitor & Restrict time with gadgets.

Screen lights from the television or other devices like phones and computers can suppress melatonin production. Insufficient or delayed production of this hormone may negatively affect your sleep quality, leaving you feeling fatigued and tired every morning. Excessive screen time dulls your brain and leaves you feeling sluggish. Make sure you stay away from these gadgets for atleast one hour after you wake up and for a minimum of one hour before you sleep at night.  This practice will prevent you from mindlessly scrolling through your phone and ipad or binge-watching your online shows or programs. Within one week itself you will start feeling more energetic and refreshed.

4. Drink sufficient Water

Staying hydrated is the key to many important functions in the human body. In summer especially, it can be difficult to maintain your hydration. One of the largest roles that water plays in the body is regulating internal temperature. The body’s ability to stay cool in hot weather is dependent upon proper hydration. Dehydration can leave you feeling drained and fatigued. Drink enough water consistently throughout the day.

Remember hydration doesn’t come from just water alone. Hydration also comes from one’s food. Foods that are water rich—like cucumbers, watermelon, green leafy vegetables are excellent additions to ones’s diet. Subtle part of the Food and water you consume becomes your thoughts. So make sure you thank and bless the food and water before you consume it. This is an ancient yogic tradition that will not only purify your mind but also leave you feeling energized and refreshed.
