Self care Tips for Health and Wellbeing

Self-care  describes everything you do consciously for your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Self care is all about the habits that help you take care of your mind and body and nurture your health and wellness. As simple as it sounds, many of us pay little attention to self-care.  Thus it’s important we become more mindful of including self care habits into our daily routines.

Why is it so important?

Self-care encourages you to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself so that you can in turn pass on these good feelings to others. You cannot give to others what you don’t have yourself. While some of us may wrongly hold the belief that self-care is selfish, it’s far from that. When you pay adequate attention to your well-being, you are not considering your needs alone. You are helping yourself become the best version of yourself for the people around you too. Everyone around you also benefits from the peace and joyful energy you exhibit. Self care will keep your Spirit high & energy Healthy. It will help you be more productive, happy and successful.

Here are some Powerful Self care Tips for your Wellbeing-

1. Sit in Silence

Sit in Silence daily to connect with your core being. This will help you experience peace and achieve balance of mind. Sit in Silence and  simply watch your thoughts come and go without labelling them as good or bad. Take slow conscious breaths. As your breath gets calmer       your mind will get more balanced and you will be able to release negative unpleasant feelings. This practice will also help you connect deeply with your body and it’s needs.

It’s benefits can be felt at 3 levels-

A. At the physical level, it promotes relaxation and refreshes the body. It promotes deep rhythmic breathing for good health

B. At the mental level, it calms nerves and brings in quietness of the mind

C. At the metaphysical & spiritual level, it helps develop intuition and purity of feelings. It releases the energy of  Acceptance and Love from within.

2. Focus on Personal Hygiene & Grooming

Focus on Personal hygiene and cleanliness. Even though our movements are restricted due to the pandemic, we must still ensure we keep ourselves well groomed. How you take care of yourself speaks a lot about what you think and feel about yourself as it sends a very strong message to your subconscious mind.

Keep your body clean. Take particularly good care of your nails and hair. A lot of energy is said to be stuck in these areas if they aren’t kept clean. People who maintain good levels of hygiene and are well-groomed are said to have more organized thoughts and high self esteem.

3. Love Yourself

Smile looking at yourself in the mirror. This will help release any resistances or negative thoughts you are holding for yourself. Say I love you to Yourself. Try to speak sweetly and lovingly to yourself and others. This is one of the best self care practices. It will  automatically improve the quality of your thoughts and feelings. It also has great health benefits. It helps you  successfully deal with even the most stressful of situations in your life. Smile and lovingly repeat positive affirmations to manifest your goals. This way you will add more power to your desires and dreams. Loving yourself helps connects you to your deepest self, leaving  you feeling lighter, healthier and more positive than before.

4. Share with Others

Share what you have with others. Help others to the extent possible. Sharing releases endorphins in the brain, producing feel-good emotions not just for the receiver of your kindness and help but even in your body. Your help can save and change lives. And the first life it will often change is your own!

So many people all over the world have experienced hardships in this pandemic. You can do your bit by speaking to them kindly, checking on the wellbeing of your friends and neighbors, arranging for help whenever possible. Support others with a joyful. It will feed  your own soul and bring more meaning to your life. Sharing your skills, talents, gifts and privileges with others will make you happier  and more grateful thereby lifting your mood and raising your vibration.

5. Practice Gratitude

Too often, we focus on the negatives while showing little appreciation for the beauty that’s all around us. This generally happens when    things don’t go our way, and all we can feel at those times is unworthy or resentful. We tend to forget all the amazing things that the past has brought us.

Cherish the good memories and hold them dear. Don’t let the unpleasant ones attempt to consume you. Show gratitude and appreciation for the little gifts in your life. Take time to appreciate and value your life, your achievements and your relationships. If you can adopt a gratitude mindset, you are on your way to achieving the highest level of Self-care.
